Miguel Alcañiz, active by (1408–died after 1447)

• Was a 15th century Valencian Gothic painter.
• Until his identification, his works were attributed to an anonymous teacher named Maestro de Gil y Pujades.
• He was related to Francesc Serra and perhaps also to Marçal de Sax.
• He was probably in Florence in 1422, where he can be identified with the so-called Master of the Bambino Vispo.
• In 1434 he went to Mallorca; There he painted the works attributed to the Master of Alcudia: tables rectory of Alcudia (1442), the Altarpiece of Mercy of the convent of the Conception and the Diptych of Veronica preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Mallorca .
