Bartholomäus Sarburgh (1590-after 1637)
• Was a German painter.
• He was also active in Switzerland and the northern Netherlands.
• He is recorded as having worked in Berne for three years, beginning c. 1620.
• Afterwards he seems to have travelled throughout Europe, appearing in Basle in 1621 and again in 1628.
• In 1631 he was active in Cologne and in 1632 in The Hague, where he was highly esteemed as a fashionable portrait painter.
