Antonín Karel Balzer (1771–1807)
• Was a Czech graphic artist, a copper engraver, and a draughtsman.

Antonín was a son of Jan Jiří Balzer.
• Born in Lysá nad Labem.
• 1788–1789 he studied in Dresden at the Art Workshop of Johann Christian Klengel and until 1790 at the Graphic Institute in Vienna with Jakob Schmutzer.
• In 1790, he returned to Prague and formed views from the surroundings of Karlštejn.
• In 1792, he made a trip to the Adršpašské rocks, and in 1802 he went to Solnohradsk and Tyrol for Alpine motifs.
• He lived a bohemian life and belonged to cheerful companions, he was not afraid of fights, fights and exuberant night drinks, one of which proved fatal to his death.
• Balzer died suddenly as a result of a nightfall from the stairs in December 1807.
• In the Czech Republic, he contributed to the expansion of the new technique of – aquatint.
• He stood at the beginnings of landscape painting and was the author of cycles with views of landscapes and views of cities and their dominant features.
• At the end of his life, he created a unique album of an advertising nature with circus motifs of society.
