Giovanni Bizzelli (1556 – around 1 August 1607 or 1612)

• Bizzelli was an Italian painter of the late-Mannerist period.
• He grew up in Florence.
• In 1569-70 he was enrolled at the Accademia del Disegno in Florence.
• A pupil of Alessandro Allori, Bizzelli is considered to belong to the pictorial address that takes its name from the Studiolo of Francesco I in Palazzo Vecchio.
• His collaboration with Allori continued even after his return from his stay in Rome, in the grotesque decoration of Palazzo Salviati, then (1581-82) and in that of the ceilings of the Uffizi gallery.
