Anthonie Jansz van der Croos (1606/07–1662/63)

• Was a Dutch painter, draughtsman and poet.

• Son of Jan van der Croos (died 1610).

• Probably born and raised in Alkmaar.

• Possibly pupil of Moyses van Wtenbrouck

• Earliest known work is dated 1627.

• First recorded in The Hague at his marriage to Johanna Bijl in 1632.

• Bought a house in the Keizerstraat in Scheveningen in 1634.

• Second marrriage to Claesgen Jansz. in 1646.

• He was a member of the The Hague Guild of St Luke as of 1647.

• He was influenced by Jan van Goyen.

• He died in The Hague between 8 March 1662 and 14 September 1663.
