• Rainaldo was a painter from Umbria or Marche, active in Spoleto.
• He came under the influence of Giunta Pisano, active in the second half of the 13th century.
• Ranuccio probably trained with the workshop of Simeone and Machilone. 
• He signed and dated the Crucifixes of the Pinacoteca di Bologna (1265), of the Volpi collection in Florence and a triptych in Santa Chiara in Assisi.
