Eusebio Ferrari, documented in Vercelli (from 1500 to 1523)

• Was an Italian painter.
• Probably originally from Vercelli.
• Son of Bernardino di Pezzana, he is probably to be identified with the "magistro Eusebio fabricatori".
• On 26 July 1508 Ferrari, "filius quondam magistri Bernardini Ferrari", acted as guarantor of Gaudenzio Ferrari (of whom, despite the common surname, he is not related) in the contract with the brothers of the Compagnia di S. Anna in Vercelli.
• A few days later (30 July 1508) Ferrari received 20 florins in advance for the altarpiece commissioned from Gaudenzio Ferrari and immediately passed it on to Amedeo Giovenone, who was commissioned to execute the frame.
• Ferrari's prestige in Vercelli is confirmed by his presence as godfather at baptisms in S. Maria Maggiore on 4 February.
• In 1519 he executed an altarpiece for the church of the Carmine in Vercelli depicting the Virgin and Child with ss. Eusebio, Apollonia, Alberto Carmelitano, Caterina and two donors.
• His wife was Margherita della Galandra.
