Frans van Mieris II (1689-1763),
• Was a North Dutch painter.
• His grandfather Frans van Mieris (I), father Willem van Mieris and uncle Jan van Mieris.
• He remained unmarried.
• Van Mieris earned his living painting history paintings, portraits and illuminations of shops and interiors.
• He was also a collector of coins and tokens and publisher of old manuscripts and art dealer.
• Frans van Mieris (II) had a great talent for drawing.
• Work by Van Mieris can be seen in the Stedelijk Museum De Lakenhal in Leiden, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam and in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
