Toussaint Gelton (c.1630–1680)

• Was a North Netherlandish court painter.
• According to RKD he was probably son of Johannes Gelton and Adewina Weijn, living in Amsterdam since Summer 1641.
• Toussaint lived in Stockholm with Maria Dijckmans, daughter of the The Hague painter Zacharias Dijckmans.

• Gelton became royal portrait painter at the Danish court in 1659.

• Was active as an agent buying art for the Danish king Frederick III in Amsterdam.

• He died between 28 Augustus and 9 October 1680.
