David Hoyer (1667-1720)

• Was a German painter and draughtsman.
• Hoyer was born in Auerswalde.
• Johann Salomon Wahl trained as a painter between 1705 and 1711 with David Hoyer.
• Hoyer was the court painter in Leipzig.
• He married to Mrs. Rosina née Piltz at that time widowed Zeitler.
• David Hoyer died on 27th May 1720 (aged 52–53).
• His funeral was at Old Saint John's Cemetery, Leipzig, Stadtkreis Leipzig, Saxony.
