• Herclus was a Danish courtmedalist and stamp cutter in Copenhagen.
• He was probably called up from Hamburg, and in 1653 was appointed to a position at the Royal Mint with an annual salary of 300 rigsdaler.
• He designed coins and medals for Frederik III and Christian V.
• Hercules was dismissed on June 20, 1655.
• After a period, Hercules was reinstated in August 1664 under similar conditions as his predecessor, Johan Blum.
• He continued as "Eysen- und Münz-Stempel Schneider" until his death in October 1689.
• Despite receiving income from large projects for both the king and private individuals, Hercules complained in applications about financial challenges and aggressive charges by his creditors.
• As a gracious gesture, Christian V, on 22 October 1689, allocated 20 rigsdaler for his funeral.
