Antoine de Lonhy (fl. circa 1446–1490)

• Was a French painter, illuminator and glazier.
• He trained as an illuminator around 1435-1440 probably at Chalon-sur-Saône.
• Antoine de Lonhy was active there as an artist before moving to Toulouse, Barcelona and later Savoy.
• He decorated the Saluces Hours, a book of hours currently in the British Library.
• In 1446, Antoine de Lohny entered the service of Nicolas Rolin.
• During this period, he collaborated with the glassmaker Euvrard Robert.
• In 1449 he carried out work for the bishop Jean Germain.
• In 1462, he signed other contracts in Barcelona and made an altarpiece for the Augustinian monastery of Domus Dei.
• It is in these documents that it is written that Antoine de Lonhy is a resident of'Avigliana, but residing at that time in Barcelona.
• He also entered the service of the Duchy of Savoy.
• He continued to perform works in the years 1470-1490 in Piedmont and Savoy.
