• Also known as Wenceslaus von Olomouc a Václav z Olomouce.
• Was a North Moravian copper engraver and goldsmith of the late Gothic period.
• His graphic sheets are marked with the letter "W".
• His profession as a goldsmith is evidenced by a handwritten inscription (probably apocryphal) on one of the graphic sheets of the Sorrowful Christ according to Martin Schongauer, which states "This engraver's name was Václav and he was a goldsmith".
• The German historian Max Lehrs has so far dedicated only one book monograph to Václav from Olomouc and searched for him in the interwar period only in the Olomouc archives.
