Claude Albert Sevin (1649-1676)
• Was a Belgian painter.
• Sevin studied painting in Liège.
• He made a name for himself as a skilled miniature painter.
• He was hired by both the Swedish and British courts as a portrait painter, but was mainly active in Brussels.
• Among his notable portraits are those of the Landgrave of Hesse and the Archbishop of Mechelen.
• In Brussels, he executed a plafond painting in the royal residence Palais du Roi and an altarpiece depicting the birth of Christ.
