• Wolfgang's work often depicted scenes from everyday life, as well as religious themes that were popular during the Renaissance period.
• He was active in Augsburg. 
• His sons Andreas Matthäus Wolfgang and Johann Georg Wolffgang were both engravers.
• They received their first artistic lessons from their father Georg Andreas Wolfgang the Elder.
